View over the old-town rooftops of Kranj to the Kamnik Alps

Europe in miniature, from your doorstep.

The most central place to explore Slovenia — mountains, lakes and gin-clear rivers, all within reach.

Why Kranj

Central, calm, and connected.

Kranj lies just north of Ljubljana, on the road toward Lake Bled, and only ten minutes from the international airport. It is still small enough to have no traffic problems, yet connected to reliable public transport.

From here the whole country opens up in every direction. Wake up in a medieval old town, and be casting on an alpine river, hiking in a national park, or swimming in a lake before lunch.

About Kranj

A medieval old town above two rivers.

Kranj is Slovenia's fourth-largest city and a gateway to the Alps — its historic core set on a rocky spur above the meeting of the Sava and Kokra rivers. Cobbled streets, colourful façades and a dramatic river canyon are all a five-minute walk from Hucho House.

It is also the city of France Prešeren, Slovenia's greatest poet, who spent his final years here — his legacy woven through the squares, museums and memorial grove of the old town.
